Episode Highlights & More about this Episode: A Discussion on Technology Leadership

03:23 Since the title of this episode is “LEADERSHIP, INNOVATION, AND TECHNOLOGY”  How do you define leadership?

04:17 What role does innovation play in leading successful technological change?

05:40 Why is innovation so important in terms of successful leadership and/or successful technological change?

06:54 What do you see as the relationship between trust, leadership and organizational culture? Especially during change? That is, leadership and trust are critical for any organization and I would say especially during significant technological change. What are some tactical ways to do this?

11:34 On A Geek Leader Podcast (ageekleader.com)  On your site, you mention that “The transition from Techy to Leader isn’t easy, and its sometimes takes perspective and purpose to get it right.”  Can you elaborate?

19:30 What are a couple of your key concepts that you promote on your podcast that you can share with our listeners in terms of leadership?

22:14 On your podcast, you interviewed Christian Espinosa and you discussed his best-selling book, The Smartest Person in the Room.  Regarding your conversation with Espinosa, can you share your thoughts on the value of empathy, tactical transparency,  and “People are generally doing the best they can with what they have”.?

26:58 In your view, how can organizational technical change resistance actually be a valuable tool towards successful organizational change?

29:28 Are there common denominators or characteristics in leaders that manage successful digital change? What would you say are the most critical attributes of an organization in terms of what successful leaders do best?

33:57 Dr. Clark mentioned that “Performance research provides a great deal of evidence that a significant number of very popular education and performance improvement products simply do not work.” As a 15 year professor, why do you think that is?

38:11 Suppose you are leading a kickoff meeting for an organization that is just starting a significant technology-focused implementation. How would you define and describe for them “success” in terms of digital transformation change?

39:08 What role does the overall corporate culture play in large-scale technological organizational change and why?

41:52 If you were going to give advice to another organization and to our listeners regarding successful ERP implementation, what would you tell them?
