About this Episode

In this episode, we discuss how ERP organizational change leaders can prepare for success with guest Maureen Metcalf. We will focus on some key notions that she discusses in her blog “How Leaders Can Prepare Themselves For A Digital Transformation”.

As proposed successful ERP implementation factor research has evolved, research has considered the non-technical side of ERP organizational change to understand for example how leadership, organizational culture, stakeholder dynamics, team performance and measurement, and organizational diversity might be important.

Research suggests that the knowledge, discovery, and application of CSFs can be utilized by organizational leadership to ensure ERP organizational change success.  Leaders need to reflect upon their leadership as, for one example, lack of clear leadership could prohibit organizational learning. In this episode, we will further explore these ideas further with Maureen.

More about this episode

We do know through sound research that a leaders  ability and self-efficacy in articulating a clear and compelling vision and direction to motivate project team members to achieve the maximum ERP project success is equally as critical. It is also known that leadership’s participation in the ERP learning sessions has a direct and positive correlation to a culture of participative decision making. Gilley and colleagues (2009) stated that the behaviors of organizational leaders have a direct effect in advocating for an environment of organizational change. Furthermore, the concept of transformational leadership (and leadership in general) is a recurring theme in ERP organizational change research.

Research suggests that for organizational that realized ERP success there was a common denominator: executives that inspired and motivated, were intellectual in their approach, and were intellectually considerate of employees

We explore these ideas and more with Maureen.
